Val Saint Lambert production was dedicated to everyday glass ware but the company was soon re-known for its crystal table settings. It was also at the forefront of modern glass production and famous artists worked at Val Saint Lambert during the Art Nouveau movement.
The industry entered into a crisis in the depression of the 1930's and although Val Saint Lambert did not suffer much during the Second World War, its years of glory were then long passed and the Belgian government had to subsidize the plant until 1987 when it was acquired by its current management.
