| The project received the award due to its endeavor to preserve historic doors through art. Most of the doors used came from the basement of the Title and Abstract Co. where they had been sitting in the basement for over 50 years. The fire dept had told the owners of the Title Co. that the doors were a fire hazard and therefore needed to be moved from the basement. So, those beautiful door would have wound up in the dump if Lori O'Connor hadn't come up with the idea for The Door Project! |  |
